ROY OSWALT MAKES RANGERS DEBUT ON SATURDAY

Newly acquired pitcher Roy Oswalt will finally make his Rangers debut on Saturday, June 23rd against the Colorado Rockies at the Ballpark. This is after Oswalt made 3 starts for various Ranger minor league teams, mainly in Round Rock, TX and Frisco, TX.

In order for the Oswalt move up to happen, the Rangers had to put 1B Mitch Moreland on the DL after he strained a muscle in the Padres game.

TWO RANGERS PROSPECTS GET SELECTED TO GO TO FUTURES GAME

Per Drew Davison of the FW Star Telegram, SS Jurickson Profar and 1B/3B Mike Olt got selected to play in the Futures Game during All Star Weekend. It is a huge honor for probably the two best prospects in the Rangers farm system.

One of the big pieces of news is that the home games have been pushed up from 7:30 pm start times to 7:00 pm start times. Hopefully this helps with attendance and gets more families to come to the games so their children can grow up Stars fans.

The home opener will be the 3rd game of the season against the Phoenix Coyotes. Strangely enough our first game will be against the Phoenix Coyotes except its at their place.

HUGE RANGERS NEWS...

OF Josh Hamilton is out with an intestinal virus. OF Leonys Martin has been recalled from AAA Round Rock and will play tonight in center field in place of Hamilton. Martin was a name to be familiar with at the beginning of the season because most people felt he was gonna be called up to the majors soon anyways. Obviously no one wanted the situation to be like this, but now we finally get to see what he is made of. To help with the move pitcher Koji Uehera has been placed on the 15 day DL....

Just heard that the Dallas Stars have signed center Emil Molin to a 3 year entry level deal.. per Mark Stepneski of DallasStars.com. He was most notably a 4th round pick in the 2011 draft.
